Time for the Ippity Blog Hop!

I spent much of the weekend trying to get as many Hope challenges done before the deadline. You can check out my cards here. I saved one to post for today's hop since it has an image I've wanted to use for awhile. I always imagined that the jar should be stamped on acetate and that it should sit on a cute shelf (with a doily under it) and the background should be a nice wallpaper pattern. Since it was a Hope challenge, I used my own wording to go along with the image. Hope you like it!

Sunday (Part 2)

Part one is in the blog post below.  Well, my procrastination finally got the best of me. Ran of out time and I still had ideas! Maybe I'll learn from this... hee hee.
Just wanted to show you the last eight cards I was able to make before hitting the deadline for the Hope You Can Cling To challenges...

Pink Holiday (loved using that old pine tree paper...finally)

No sentiment  ( I say if you listen to bird song, you don't need anything else...)

4x4 - 4 layers and 4 embellishments ( I used 5 layers and 6 embellishments on my mannequin card, can you find them all?)

Use twine in a different way (I looped around and around the back of the circle to get the flower effect...)

Something old, something new (I've had this paper in a Photo Stack pad forever and the same goes for the magnifying glass---it was in some ephemera I've had for a while)

Something borrowed, something blue (I borrowed a card sketch from JulieHRR at SCS and I used blue)

Pink Square - The card had to be pink (check) and there had to be four additional squares on the card (check)

Something you'd see on a walk  (I see lovely falling leaves all around me these days...)

I can see the finish line....

Here are a few more challenge cards....

The first was to be vintage style. Love this butterfly stamp in Unity's Key to Joy store kit. It already has music notes within the body but I went ahead and stamped it over a pink DP with hearts on it, then added sparkles to each heart to get some sheen. I can't stop using this Label 10 Nestabilities die from Spellbinders...so cute. 

The second was for a Flower Power challenge (using at least one flower). I used the Stampin' Up lattice die from Sizzix to give my flowers something to grow up on. Love the effect of the rhinestone swirls.

Hop, hop, hop...

That title kinda brings to mind a bunny, doesn't it? Sorry, no bunny. I'm just excited that it's time for another Friends With Flair blog hop over at Unity. When you're done here, if you haven't started at the beginning, go here. If you're already hopping, next stop is Schnauz Scraps. I got my bundle from Unity this week and I just want to lock myself in my craft room and work on cards all day... the sets are that cute! The one featured here is called Matching Socks and it immediately brought to mind an old clothesline and clothespins. *smile*. I took some wood paneled photo paper and rolled it to make the posts, paper pieced the two socks and made a sampler towel for the sentiment with those cute X's from the Ippity set called Quotes a 'la Happy. Those adorable birds are back and they come from that same Ippity set. (I get my Ippity from my friend, Jen Marie.) More deets can be found in my SCS Gallery.

Still cranking out the Hope challenges...

A couple of new additions to my Hope challenges (see the sidebar). One called for a pink and brown color scheme and I decided to try out my new Anna Griffin self-inking stamper. I'm telling you, the road to a card is sometimes pretty accidental. I stamped the butterfly once on some kraft cardstock, just to see how it looked and I was blown away! It was so juicy and crisp that I just had to keep doing it over and over, expecting to see differences but I didn't. Well, that piece of kraft became the panel for the card I made. Serendipity, huh?

When I saw a challenge that said it was to be an invite to a girls get together, I remembered two stamps gathering dust in my closet. These cute little girls going shopping and the sentiment "We need girl time." Then I thought, okay, let's make it a trip to Paris to do a little shopping, so I hunted down the paper I'd seen in one of my stacks and that was the start of the second card.

I'm trying to crank these out with the little time I have left, so I'm trying to keep these cards simple. I could probably save a lot of time if I was able to organize my stuff better. I think I spend more time hunting than creating, but, you know what, I think that's actually part of the fun.

Welcome to What's On Your Workspace Wednesday #74

When it rains, it pours. But not always in a bad way. In this case, my recent craft supply orders have all converged on me at once. Not a bad problem, right?

I ordered a self-inking Anna Griffin stamp set from the Home Shopping Network (HSN) last week and it came today. (Can't wait to play with it because---frugally speaking, ahem--- I'm hoping it will accommodate any small cling stamps I have, I'll keep you posted). You'll find that item in the lower right corner of the shot in bubble wrap under the paper insert.

Then, I had ordered a few things from my good friend and Stampin Up demonstrator and when I met her for lunch today, she brought my order, yay! It was some 1/2" lace trim, a lattice die, some pastel buttons and a cute little date keeper to decorate. You"ll find them in the bottom left corner. The stamp set in the bottom center is Laundry Notes by Stampin Up.

THEN, a bundle pack of Unity Stamps that I ordered a couple of weeks ago appeared in my mailbox yesterday. So, although it's more fun to get these things spaced a little apart, I'm fine with it....hee hee.

In the top center of the desk you'll see some plastic dividers that I picked up in the hopes that, like the Holy Grail, I've finally found a treasure I've been seeking, that is, the perfect surface to stick my cling stamps on. I can't find the stencil sheets that I thought might work, I've tried glossy sheets and even cardstock with a sheen on it, to no avail. After I place the set on these surfaces and slip them into a large clear plastic baggie and try to store them standing up in a magazine holder, they invariably unstick and fall in a heap to the bottom of the bag. Someone is going to tell me that empty CD holders are good but I want the sets to be together so they're not big enough. By next week, I'll be able to report if these dividers worked.

I've been working on cards for challenges (see the top blinkie in the sidebar) so there are lots to check out if you scroll down the week's worth of posts below. You cat lovers may like the one I did a few days ago with a stamp designed by my friend, Lydia. I inserted a link in that post if you decide you must have that cat stamp. It is adorable!

Finally, thanks to everyone who expressed concern last week for my safety where my sagging shelves are concerned. Just to let you know, they are a very sturdy form of particle board that were somewhat bowed when I inherited them. They're not going anywhere, but I haven't helped them in the least!
