Relive today....

Last night's Modern Family episode reminded me of a play I saw many years ago. It struck a chord that still resonates in me.  In the play "Our Town," a young woman's spirit is given the chance to go back and revisit the world she has tragically left and she marvels at all the wonderful everyday aspects of her life that she took for granted.

Try this out. Close your eyes and pretend that you are living 20 years in the future. You'd ask for one wish to be granted. You'd like to be transported back to a day of no special meaning. If you have children, a day when your children were 20 years younger and life was just a series of daily, ordinary, taken-for-granted tasks. Making lunches, scrambling for the school bus, helping with homework, rushing to their sports, or even maybe letting them practice driving. Now, open your eyes. You've been granted your wish. Today is that day. Look at the day as if you have just this day to relive. Marvel at your life... at the wonder and beauty of your children. Soak it in. Because one day, they are going to tell you that they are staying in their college town for the summer and those return visits that you normally cling to, when you can have them back for awhile, are suddenly gone. And all you can do is plan a vacation where you go to see them and send them a card that shows where you wish they could be.

SUPPLIES: Travel DP stack (MAMBI), Kraft & Chocolate Chip c/s (SU),arrow die (Cuttlebug), label maker (Dymo)

Today is your day to relive....

We love Modern Family and last night's episode was just as funny as ever!
But, wow, your post seriously has me with tears in my eyes ready to roll down my face! My son will be 5 next month and I am struggling with THAT! Where has the time gone and my baby is not a "baby" anymore (although he already knows that he will ALWAYS be MY baby ;)
What a great post and I love your card to go with it!
