A tag and WOYWW79
I'm supposed to be working on a couple of baby albums for a cousin (and if you've been following What's On Your Workspace Wednesday for a while, you might remember that I started working on them many moons ago. Lol). And I am... working on them..... I've been cutting 8x8 sheets of patterned paper and stamping alphabet letters and cutting die cuts.... but my mind wanted a little challenge. So I came up with:
Frugal tip #44: When you're working on an assembly-line project, take a break and create something with your scraps.
I read somewhere that it's fun to do this after you've finished a project. Use the scraps to make a quick card or tag for future use, but I say, why wait 'til your project is over? This may be too much to ask of someone who prefers a singular focus until a project is over. I'm just saying it's a boredom buster, that's all. It worked for me. I put together this tag for a challenge over at All Things Unity. It was fun and relaxing to punch out all those squares and do a little paper piecing. Now I'm ready to get back to the albums.
Deets (also in SCS Gallery):
Unity's Sweet Boy Jumper stamp - on sale over at Limelight Papercrafts.
Sentiment - Unity's July '10 KOTM
All-In-One Paper Pad - K&Co
Designer Blue Jeans pad - DCWV
Train border punch, scalloped square punch - Martha Stewart
If you're not familiar with WOYWW and you're a little curious, click on the icon in my sidebar on Wednesday and tour around people's desks for a little inspiration.
I wish you warmth and coziness....

Great tag and a fab idea to use the scraps at once, don't like the ever growing pile of them.

Cutest little tag. Hmm, must see if I can find that blue jean paper pack. #92
Cindy, I love the tag, and you are right. It relieves boredom to change things up a bit. That's why I like to have two projects going at once. Happy WOYWW (#4).
A great idea - I often get bored by assembly-line projects as well and it is nice to do a little project in between without looking for new supplies. Your tag is delightful, very sweet.
Great tip and great little tag. The train and ribbon add just the perfect touch! Warmth and coziness back atcha!
cindy, this is such a SWEET tag!! i really thank you for playing at all things unity's tag challenge:)
love the frugal tip, too!
GET OUT--this is the cutest! LOVE those little squares for the background and those little overalls--and the hanger! LOOOOOOOOOVE it:) Perfect!! Thanks for sharing and playing along with us over at All Things Unity:}
Cute and a great sort of brain gym exercise! Love the scallop square punch.
Like your frugal tip #44 - a bit of a challenge to use up the scraps instead of stockpiling them for who knows when! The tag is fab - love the un-babylike colours. Elizabeth #95
Love the tag - brilliant colours, and your desk is full of really interesting baba things.

I'm a scarp collector too! Never throw anything away is my motto- keeps my desk and room messy, but I try to keep it all inside my craft room! Patsy from

That's a great idea. Why wait till the end when you can have some fun in the meantime?
